CORPORATE BACKGROUNDER

When the room stops spinning and you're left with a pounding headache, nausea, and dry mouth, you may start to wonder if the hangover you're dealing with now was worth that last round of margaritas your friends talked you into the night before. According to recent surveys, hangovers account for more than 500 million lost days of work annually. Further, hangovers contribute to an 18 percent decrease in productivity in the workplace each year in the United States, according to the Department of Health and Human Services. Of the more than half of the U.S. population who consume alcohol on a regular basis, 75 percent report experiencing hangovers. The Cure, the first healthy, all-natural, hangover remedy to relieve the negative effects of alcohol, was inspired by the needs of American adults who want to drink socially and still be productive and effective at work the next day.

Incorporated in May 2006, Rescue Beverage Corporation is the brainchild of Robert Scholl, the company's founder, president, and chief executive officer. Relying on science, nutrition and practical research, Rescue Beverage Corp. develops products that protect, rebuild and fuel the body and the mind. Scholl was committed to creating a 100 percent, all-natural hangover remedy, free of caffeine and artificial colors and flavors prominent in other products.

Curing Hangovers Naturally
The Cure is the only all-natural product available that biologically addresses the root cause of a hangover rather than masking its effects with aspirin or calcium carbonate. It is the healthiest course of action after drinking alcohol because it purges toxins, rehydrates the body, and restores vitamins, minerals, electrolytes and nutrients lost during alcohol consumption.

"Its effectiveness rests on the unique combination of ingredients working in sync with water to alleviate the symptoms of a hangover and to rehydrate the body," said Scholl. "There are many people who drink socially and want to ensure that they are at their best and most productive the following day."

To develop the proprietary, scientific formula for The Cure, Scholl worked closely with his sister, a developmental biologist at Duke University, and with Bob Parrino, Ph.D., a clinical psychologist in Florida who studies the effects of alcohol.

"We have found that there are specific cognitive issues related to drinking alcohol and hangovers, such as irritability and depression," Parrino says. "The Cure helps combat those problems by reintroducing important nutrients, revitalizing brain and body."

'Rescue' in the Community
Rescue Beverage Corporation is a special kind of company – one which is not solely driven by the bottom line. In its first year, Scholl donated 100 percent of the company's earnings to non-profit organizations including The Nature Conservancy and The American Cancer Society. Scholl believe that businesses have a responsibility to their communities and the environment. As the company grows, it will continue to donate a significant portion of its profits to several worthy social and environmental causes, including programs to encourage responsible drinking.

Rescue Beverage houses its laboratories in Florida and its executive sales offices in California. The Cure is available for purchase online and in select grocery, liquor, health and convenience stores, health clubs and hotels.
